Thanksgiving 2022
Living in Switzerland, I miss cheese so much, especially this time of year. I even tried to eat it but it made me pukey. Since both Zaven and I are both vegan, I did some research and found a bunch of amazing vegan options – raclette, fondue, lachs and sausage in Luzern and brought them to Serole. It was such a perfect loooong weekend, we would wake up late, go for long hikes, have fires and then have amazing dinners (departing from our usual vegan fare with the exotic vegan stuff I scored in CH) and then watch movies surrounded by our cats, our neighbor’s cats and Lula. 23-27 November 2022 Zaven’s 25th birthday celebrated in Piemonte and the Alba Truffle Festival 4-6 November 2022I think this is my favorite hike so far. Just 30 minutes away. Glaubenberg, through the south facing Unesco Moorlandshaft (moors). It was cloudy and grey in Luzern and just up the hill it was sunny and gorgeous.

Redwoods,California | October 2022Joe is in Italy for the weekend. Lula and I took the train from Luzern to Stans, then the bus to Emmetten, then this tiny gondola up to Niederbauen. We hiked 4 hours with beautiful views of the lake and the Alps, just a bit of snow on the peaks, over to Klewenalp (scroll down, Joe and I did that one a few weeks ago) and took the gondola down. Another lovely Sunday hike. 23 October 2022Sunday hike, starting in Engleberg, adorble ski resort just 30 minutes away, hiked up 2.5 hours enjoyed the sun, the bare foot freezing water walk, had a sunny lunch and then hiked down 2 hours. A perfect Sunday. 16 October 2022Joe is a pro at sniffing out rooftop bars Luzern 15 October 2022Sunday hike, drove 20 minutes to Breckenreid, took the Klewenalp gondola up, hiked 1.5 hours to Brisenhaus Hutte and then 3 hours down to Breckenreid. 9 October 2022 Figilily was laying on me so Lula had to skwudge in and cuddle too. Fig & Lu love each other and it is so sweet. The day we finished the pool, we closed it for the Winter. “Go back and make that pool,” was what Kathy said to me the last time I saw her in December.
