Last Paddle Board of the Season 🏔🌞
I got back from Barcelona after midnight on Friday. Exhausted lazy Saturday, Sunday early morning paddle board, cleaned the house, worked for 5 hours and then met Erin at the Sunset Bar 🍹.
I miss Lula so much😢 I haven’t been away from her this long ever. Except when I moved to Switzerland. I know she is happy and having fun in Italy with Joe and the kitties. But I still miss her.
Off to Barcelona again tomorrow.

Another life goal met. Paddle boarding with Lula. But first, we made spectacles of ourselves. Getting the SUP and pump and paddle and dog from my house down to the lake where we put in – well I look ridiculous. We go early to avoid funny looks from lots of tourists vs. only a few odd looks from early morning tourists.
People love a dog on a paddle board, they were waving and smiling and stopping to watch us and take photos. “Practicing” standing and actually paddling with Lula vs sitting and paddling – we didn’t fall in at all, ever. We stayed close to the shore because I don’t think I have the strength to heft her on the board, from the water, even with a life vest. By the way, she is the worst water dog ever, even though she is a labrador – waves scare her and she isn’t a good swimmer. The camo life vest was also a spectacle – people were are all “EIN HUND!” so it must have been working. It is a fashion don’t 1. because it is ugly and 2. it is for duck hunting dogs and we (I) don’t believe in hunting. Once we got confident and Lula got used to the movement, and relaxed, although she is usually always relaxed, and we took off on our ausflug.
Some lady yelled, “she balances you” and she does… in so many ways. My girl ❤️❤️ I love her so. She got lots and lots of treats. During and after.

Enjoying Luzern and Meggen beach and then doing The Swiss Trail – bahn, boat and 3 hours 500 meters up and down – then boat back to Luzern. More challenging than I had anticipated…mostly because of the heat.

I had just flown in from San Diego at 10.30 and the event was at 1.00 so I was whacked out with lack of sleep and travel, but it was fun meeting other Americans, seeing our friends Erin (pictured above) and Adrian her husband and hanging out on the lake.

Day 1 – Tour d’Argentine – starting from Refuge Solalex 1460 meters, raining all day, climbed up to 2000 meters, down to 1700, back up to 2000 and down to 1900 meters and the hutte. Our boots were filled with water. I slipped on the wet rocks, fell and bent my Leki trekking pole. The ups and downs didn’t feel so bad, maybe acclimitizing to higher altitudes. Plus I was listening to the audio book of Heidi – perfect for a rainy hike in the Alps. Day 2 -down, down, down from Refuge Giacomini the sun came out and so did the amazing views.
