I am so happy to have Lula with me, it makes me being alone in Switzerland less lonely. Went to Luzern for a little preview of the house with the current tenant pre official handover. I am seriously so ready to be out my tiny temporary residence and settled in Luzern which is one of the most charming cities I have ever visited.

Love Pavia and being home. Happy to be able to bring Lula back to Switzerland thanks to Joe and Zaven wrangling Italian bureaucracy to get her passport.

Luzerne | 9 January 2022

Joe came to visit me for the weekend at my tiny temporary housing hotel in Switzerlnad! Trained into Zurich for a fun Friday night, Saturday snowshoeing on Raten Trail – it is just so easy to get to the mountains (duh). Zug for coffee and views of the lake and mountains. Kloten for food cart pad thai. Sunday visiting Luzern and our new digs (I get to move in on 27 January) Joe headed back to Italy from there and I took the train back to my temporary housing.

Always good for the soul to hang out with E&E in Serole. Sun. Prosecco. Views. Goofin’ and trying to get the perfect group jump. The world feels normal. Of course all fully vaccinated and boosted – home test ahead. I hate covid. It is exhausting.

Good Lord, just getting onboard with covid tests and waits was an accomplishment. The entire trip was stressful with jacked cortisol levels. Having our friends test in presence. For us almost daily. No eating in restaurants with a bunch of unmasked possibly unvaccinated or infected people. We were terrified to contract covid – not worried about getting sick as we are all vaccinated and boosted – but being grounded, quarantined and not able to fly to get home. Nightmare.

We look like we are floating.
Staying the last night with the Hammonds in Seattle before we flew out. We love them and it is always like no time has passed at all.
We tried to go to the beach for the day but the snow and roads were treacherous. So we detoured to Lewisville park. Snow and childhood memories.
Bless Erin. Doing a test in her trunk. And eating outside in the rain just to be able to hang out. What a pal.

Christmas with Kathy. And Fawney. We planned and shopped for our Christmas meals, we prepared them together and what a blessing to be all together.
