Now just the border tiles, stones on top of this cement for a lovely stone terrace (already delivered and ready to go) and the fence which Joe has been installing – over 150 meters – bless him, he is working so hard. Grass, trees, plants.

Oh this pool.
Got permission, paperwork, paid to build it via the architect and mayor.
And then I had to fire the contractor and the pool company due to typical unreliability. Changed jockeys mid race. Was guaranteed it would be done first week of August. Lies. Because of the drought (global warming etc) we were not allowed to use our water. So we had to covertly hire some guy named Luigi to truck it in. Five truck loads. Then we hit Ferragosto and everything came to a screetching hault. We need to get the border and terrace in and the fence needs to go up. I needed to leave 1. because I need to be working from CH and 2. I couldn’t stand the neighbors wandering into our yard and house uninvited – we need a fence. Pronto
As Avalon said: A pool. Is that smart, you are unemployeed (actually it was seamless but there was a time when I had no job between resignation notice and pre HP offer), society is collapsing and the world is on fire?

Tried swimming with Lu, she dips in daily but me in the water was just confusing and a no go for her. Luzern in the summertime is enchanting, lots of strolling, cafe sitting, drinking rose’ and looking at the views ❤🌞

I am over the moon happy.
I gave Sika my three month (legal contractual period in Switzerland) notice at the end of April, sadly a super bad fit – with no firm plan, just knowing that there was absolutely no way I could stay. Yes, Joe resigned, we sold our house and then I resigned. That isn’t crazy. Still grateful for the horrible, fantastical, unbelievable experience.
Today, I was invited to come back to HP, fabulous compensation and I get to stay in Switzerland.
My heart is full.

We wanted to stay in a hutte but it is too early in the year. And even for this space station hotel there was too much snow to go all the way to the top by trail.
Bused from Luzern to Kriens and then began our uphill to Frakmuntegg | 400 meters UP to 1400 meters. We had to take a cable car to the summit as it was deep in Spring snow. We had expected rainy weather but it was perfect for hiking – cool and overcast with the sun popping out.
I must say that Lula was a champ – she is a surprisingly great hiker…as long as she is off leash – the streams helped – she could dip in and then run and be bananas.
